There can be many benefits to reap from choosing to build your own animator career. Maybe you have been fascinated by art your entire life and bringing it to life might be the career choice for you. If you want to be a professional animator you have to develop a grasp for 3-D modeling. Even though 2-D animation is still thriving 3-D computer animated films are the wave of the future. Most studios feature at least several popular 3-D films as they can be huge money earners. To keep up with this technology you should learn the process behind creating the 3-D computer models that these films utilize.

The animator career is a very rewarding one but let us not forget how very difficult it can be to obtain. This can be said for most of the entertainment industry. If you still have your earlier drawings add them along with you current ones to a portfolio. You must make sure that this portfolio continues to grow. Also realize that you will have to prove a certain proficiency in computers to catch the eye of many studios and employers.
